TikTok Influencer Sells Out Product Nationwide
Overview
A single organic viral moment drove national retail sellouts, mainstream media coverage, and a measurable Instacart sales lift within weeks.
What Happened
A TikTok influencer and local teacher, Courtney Cook, started posting about putting cheese into sweet potatoes, and it began going viral on TikTok (see here). Not just any cheese — a very specific cheese: butterkäse. Most people are unfamiliar with butterkäse, so it created a perfect viral moment for our brand, Ammerlander, to plug itself in and capitalize on this virality.

What We Did?
At Today’s Business, we provide full social media marketing management for our brands. Part of that includes social listening, engagement, and influencer marketing.
We noticed this influencer post right away and knew it was the perfect opportunity to engage. We saw how much engagement this post was getting and quickly acted by sending Courtney Cook some of our very own Ammerlander butterkäse, which she naturally used in her next sweet potato
Executing this multifaceted strategy required seamless coordination across social media, creative, paid media, and influencer teams. A detailed content calendar mapped out daily posts, featuring custom graphics and captivating captions. Eight carefully selected influencers were contracted, ensuring strategic alignment with the campaign. A well-allocated budget optimized spending for the best mix of prizes, influencer collaboration, and paid media, culminating in strategically boosted posts for maximum reach.
We followed up with a paid giveaway collaboration to continue building on the momentum.

Results
The results were insane. Not only were stores across the country selling out of butterkäse, but our brand in particular saw the biggest lift across multiple platforms.
